This dress was inspired by the empire line dresses featured in Pride and Pejudice. I like the idea of giving a very 'demure' dress a 'modern twist' -the back of the dress features lacing which gives the interest as you walk down the isle.

The fabric: I have used a polyester brocade for the bodice which has a beautiful design, mainly in gold thread. The skirt is in Duchess Satin - it's a little more expensive than a satin, but it is far more durable.
